民謠歌手Dave Carroll將其搭乘航空遭遇的事件寫成的抗議歌曲，事件檔案大略如下：
某天Dave乘坐美國聯合航空前往芝加哥的班機
於行李區寄艙時目睹行李員亂丟他裝有手工吉他的袋子
當場投訴不被理會，抵達芝加哥後收回行李發現吉他果然壞了，申訴索償不受理
於是他就用了自己最擅長的方式為自己討回公道：寫歌諷刺他們
於是這首「United Breaks Guitars」就此誕生
自彈自唱並拍成MV登上Youtube，點選率數月內衝過百萬
至今已累積到千萬，幾月間聯合航空聲譽大損，股價一度急跌
